| "The
Tiffany" is one of the more popular styles at Uncle
Greg's Playhouses Par Excellence, but Uncle Greg Cheadle
and his design team can build playhouses that have never
existed in reality – only in the client's dreams.
Based in Oakland, this company travels all over the country
doing backyard installations of their little houses, which
all feature interior pine siding and exterior tongue and
groove redwood siding. |
"THE
TIFFANY",
by designer/builder Gregory Cheadle, was featured in the September,
2002, issue of COAST with the following article & photos.

"If
you're looking to buy some new digs, but the bull real estate
market is intimidating you, have we got the house for you:
A cozy, no-bed-room cottage, with exquisite detailing, shake roof,
a non-working fire- place, five-foot vaulted ceilings, and an
op-tional attached rope ladder. |

Pennsylvania-based HomePlace Structures offers a
variety of styles, including the pine log cabin, all with a rural
quality appropriate to the Amish hands that make them. The cabins
come with optional lofts, flowerboxes, interior electricity, a porch
swing, and a stone chimney with a propane fireplace. |

Barbara Butler's
playhouses — sturdily built with amenities kids will love
like hiding places, escape doors, carvings, and climbing opportunities–
have been purchased by everyone from Robert Redford to Will Smith.
Shown here is the Malibu Lighthouse, with rope ladder and fireman's
pole. Other designs include castles, Robin Hood's fort and the Cape
Codder Deluxe with a bridge that connects to a separate tower. |

La Petite maison's philosophy is to create soothing,
sophisticated environments on a kid's scale. Some of the grand miniatures
actually have two stories and one bedroom. Most are equipped with
electricity and running water. Shown here is the living room of
their latest creation, complete with fireplace and the company's
own furniture brand, The Lollypop Tree. |
